The design conservation and rehabilitation project of the Student Center at the University of Puerto Rico. The Student Center at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras by architect Henry Klumb (1905-1984) is considered “one of the most important examples of tropical modernism in the Caribbean.” The building’s conception as a free flowing space with minimal structure constituted a breakthrough in Puerto Rican, Caribbean and Latin American architecture.
